This luxury Lodge was built with Adobe bricks, similar to the Arabian villages and the tents to the Bedouin. The lights are solar-powered and, as the 45 Tent have en-suite showers instead of baths, you can have a unique swim in the desert by splashing in the clear, cool pool. The rooms and bar have a marvelous desert view. Little has been sacrificed to luxury however. The restaurant has a fine German/ Namibian cuisine. A wide variety of mineral waters and cocktails are stocked at to quench a 'desert thirst, as well as an extensive range of Southern Africa's finest wines. Well known Namibian and German beers and schnapps are also stocked. The service area includes the bar itself and area around the adjacent swimming pool.
The Curio or Souvenir shop is located at the base of the observation tower adjacent to Reception and is open from 08h00 till 17h00 daily. The shop stocks informative books about the area, peoples & animals, postcards, African art jewelry (including Bushmen signs & paw prints), Sossusvlei Lodge clothing & caps, films, camera batteries, sunglasses, sunscreen amongst other interesting items.
Reached by road and or air the Sossusvlei Lodge is not only the perfect base for balloon trips and tours to Sossusvlei and the Namib Naukluft Park, but also a wonderful holiday destination on its own.

The total distance to the Sossusvlei Lodge driving the direct route is 306.9km
and is approximately a 4 hours drive.

Depart Windhoek on the B1 to Rehoboth, thereafter turn right on the C26 (Namib Naukluft Road), continue traveling on the C26 until you reach a turnoff to your left, D1261. You will then reach another T-junction D1275 on your right hand side, this route is the Spreetshoogte Pass (Please take extra care on this part of the route). You will later reach the C14 at Solitaire, turn left and travel further until you reach the C19. Here you will find a petrol station, shop and a restroom. Travel onwards until you reach the D826, here you then turn righ and travel for a further 12km until you reach the entrance gate of Sossusvlei Lodge.
